2017 MacKenzie Lectureship - Jan. 27-29
The MacKenzie Lectureship Series is pleased to present Diana Butler Bass, author, speaker and independent scholar, specializing in American religion and culture.
As a historian, Diana focuses on the history of Christianity and is a leading voice in the progressive Christianity movement. She has looked at the decreasing numbers of committed churchgoers, yet sees an awakening of personal spirituality. According to her, the function of the church has changed from being the intermediary between the parishioner and God and now is a strong, supportive center of community.
